Kakao Enterprise (CEO Baek Sang-yeop) is training digital professionals based on artificial intelligence (AI) and big data technology with Gachon University (President Lee Gil-yeo).

Kakao Enterprise and Gachon University announced on the 5th that they will sign a “business agreement to build a platform for higher education innovation” and operate a “recruitment-linked software academy” supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Communication.

Kakao Enterprise will open a boot camp-type software academy in Gachon University to train competent software talents who have received computer engineering theory and project-oriented training beyond simple coding technology.

Kakao Enterprise, along with Gachon University, opens customized courses such as machine learning, computer vision, and web programming, and runs an intensive course for students to team up to carry out projects. Up to 150 students who have completed the course will be provided with a certificate of completion and a recruitment-linked internship conducted by the Kakao community. In addition, it plans to cooperate with each other in developing AI and big data-based education platforms and educational services, and to establish and spread the foundation for future talent education.

Gachon University also introduced “Kakao Work,” a digital education platform that provides a smart collaboration environment to foster talent and innovate communication in the school. Currently, about 30,000 students, professors, and faculty members are using Kakao Work’s various functions for class-related communication, communication between faculty members, and group projects between students.

Gachon University President Lee Gil-yeo said, “The opening of the academy will be a model to solve the lack of software talent and mismatches between companies and universities at once,” adding, “We will grow practical software engineers who can produce immediate results in the field through intensive project education led by companies.”
