Smart transportation startup AltA announced that it has attracted Free A investment from Hansol Holdings and Blue Point Partners. The amount of investment is private.

Alt-A was established in November 2016 to build smart transportation infrastructure on last mile roads such as alleys and private lands. Most of the last mile roads are classified as “out-of-road areas” that are difficult to apply the Road Traffic Act.

AltA provides artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital transportation infrastructure on the last mile road, which has been difficult to manage properly except for the degree of convex mirrors. Currently, projects for infrastructure construction are being carried out in autonomous districts such as Seodaemun-gu, Geumcheon-gu, and Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

Alt-A has developed an edge computing called ‘Alt Plus’ that can intelligently develop CCTVs installed on existing roads without replacement. Alt Plus can stably run the AI engine without being affected by the weather or temperature for 24 hours in an external environment.

Based on this, the transportation infrastructure of RTA can deliver collision information to drivers or autonomous driving mobility without delay time and collect data for traffic management. He also confirmed the possibility in the B2B market by winning the “Hansol V Frontiers” program held at COEX on the 22nd of last month.

Lee Tae-woo, CEO of Alt-A, said, “The direction of autonomous driving on public roads and last mile roads is different,” adding, “Al-A will create a foundation for autonomous driving on last mile roads such as delivery robots.”
